“My wife and I wanted a peaceful visit the mountains in Georgia, so we picked the north Georgia city of Clayton where we were truly fortunate to stay at the Mountain Aire Cottages and Inn. We stayed in The Clear View Cottage because it was the right size for the two of us and had all the comforts we could ask for. The cottage is fully outfitted with a complete kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils, an electric range, and even a dishwasher. The bedroom was private, separated from the living room and dining area. The full sized bathroom was also a separate room with doors opening to the bedroom and the living room. Tucked away in the bathroom is a washer/dryer combination for guests to use. It was possible for someone to be up and circulating in the cottage while the bedroom was kept quiet and private for a late sleeper, a luxury not found in many rentals. All the appliances were in very good condition and the hot water and air conditioning/heating worked beautifully. Everything was spotlessly clean. We had several mornings when the temperatures dipped into the 30s, so we turned on the gas-log fireplace to add a cheerful warmth to the cottage, 

The inn keeper is Frank, a pleasant man who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We learned that he had rebuilt and outfitted each of the several cottages himself, and he did so with a keen eye to building a unique and wonderful mountain experience into each cottage. We loved our stay at the Mountain Aire, and recommend it for your next opportunity to enjoy a week or a weekend of refreshing renewal. Believe me, you will really enjoy the time you spend at the cottages. 

Also, the Mountain Aire is located in a private setting, about three quarters of a mile north of down-town Clayton, so it is quiet, very quiet at night, is mid-way up a gentle fise so you can see out, and is on a cul-de-sac drive so there is no traffic around you.”

“Thanks to Tripadvisor, I found this quaint little spot in Clayton and it was just what the doctor ordered for our annual sister's weekend. Just off the busy main highway, and close enough to downtown Clayton so you have that convenience, but tucked back just enough to get that mountain secluded feeling. We stayed in the Lake View room and were very comfortable for our 3 night stay. Good mattress, plush towels, nice hot shower and a little front porch with rocking chairs for our morning and nightly coffee talks. Frank was great to work with and very helpful during our stay also. We like the Mountain Aire and Frank so much we decided to reserve our room for next year.”

The rooms and cottages give you the feel that you are living in the mountains with a refreshing peace of mind. “I just stayed at Mountain Aire cottages for 4 days . I really enjoyed my stay , the room was great, so cozy and decorated like a fishing cabin. Location is great, within walking distance from town and a huge flea market. The owner was so nice and made sure I had everything I needed. It’s very quite and also has picnic tables and an outdoor grill/ fireplace. And I can’t forget the very sweet cat named midnight . Also very reasonably priced.I will definitely be back! “My husband and I spent 6 nights at this wonderful place. We rented a car and explored the beautiful mountains and waterfalls that surround the area. Our accommodations were spotless, quiet and best of all we enjoyed Midnight, the cat! He visited every morning as we drank our morning coffee on the porch rockers and enjoyed the cool mountain air and georgeous scenery. The restaurants in Clayton are amazing/ we didn’t have time to enjoy them all but the ones we tried were great. Frank, the innkeeper, was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed visiting with him. We plan to return next year to finish exploring the area and finish sampling the fantastic food. To sum it all up/ We give this place a five star rating. Do not miss this gem in the northern GA mountains. You won’t be disappointed!.”

It is very clear to the guests that Frank, the owner, takes pride in his cottages and his guests' stay. Our cottage was cozy and equipped with everything we needed! We truly felt at home. My husband and three young children stayed overnight and plan on coming back to Clayton and staying for a longer period of time. As a "neat freak" myself, it passed my cleanliness test!

"Nice, quiet little place tucked away in Clayton, Ga. Close enough to walk to town but nested in the quiet shade of a mountain. Frank is a very friendly and accommodating host who maintains a nice, homey location for those who would prefer to stay at a smaller location with some personality. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed, thanks Frank!"
