We'll be staying there from now on.

"Having come through Clayton at least one each year for several years, we had gotten used to staying at one of the motels along US Highway 23/441. This year, our hotel had to cancel our reservation (along with a bunch of others) and I found myself looking for an alternative. That's when I stumbled upon Mountain Aire.

It's a delightful little place. The accommodations are well designed, and very comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The owner, Frank, is welcoming, helpful, and attentive. It's on North Main St, a little over half a mile from the north end of the Clayton restaurant and shop district (and actually closer to there than the motels on the highway). Mountain Aire is well off the highway, and I can say that it was quite nice to wake up in the morning to the sound of birds rather than traffic. I should also note that the lodging cost no more than the brand names on the highway.

We'll be staying there from now on, when we come through Clayton."

The owner, Frank, is very friendly and accommodating.

"My wife and I made a one night trip up to Clayton from our home in the Augusta, Ga. area to get some apples and do some sightseeing. We stayed in the Mountain Lodge Room. It was the cleanest motel/guest room we have ever stayed in. The kitchenette facilities were all we needed to have our breakfast in our room. The room was very quiet since the property sits back from the road and traffic noise is minimal. The room is nicely finished and outfitted with everything you would need for an even longer stray. The owner, Frank, is very friendly and accommodating. The motel and cabins are situated on a large area which gives a secluded feel but you are only about 1/2 mile from downtown Clayton. We will definitely stay there again when we travel to the area."

Wonderful place for some R&R

"My wife and I had a great 4 day stay in one of the rooms at Mt. Aire this past week, first week in April, the room had all the amenities that the two of us required. The service by Frank was 1st class, he puts much effort into making ones stay a pleasant one.

We enjoyed our talks with Frank during our stay, he likes to get to know folks and what they like about Mt. Aire. We enjoyed the town of Clayton with all the eating establishments and shops, what a great time we had. Thank you Frank."

Like Coming Home.

"I highly recommend the Mountain Aire Cottages and Inn. Frank is so welcoming to everyone and truly wants you to feel at home! We will stay here whenever we come to North Georgia. Frank has so many small personal touches that you can not get at a chain hotel. You are welcomed with a personal note on your door. He walks you to your room and shows you where everything is. There is always coffee in the cupboard and the rooms are always clean. We have been coming here for several years now and Frank's hospitality does not ever disappoint! The rooms are very quaintly decorated and always clean! Clayton itself is such a wonderful, cute, quaint city with wonderful restaurants. Be sure to go to the indoor flea market just about a 1/2 block from the cabins."
